Our Research

We work across digital communications, signal processing, and remote sensing to deliver practical solutions to long-standing challenges in these intersecting fields, using optimization and deep learning to approach ill-posed problems. Our approach recognizes their underlying theoretical and methodological commonality, and designs robust algorithms of wide applicability. Professor Arikan is offering EE 60552, Array Signal Processing, for the first time in Notre Dame as a Fall 2025 graduate course.

At Notre Dame, we are affiliated with the Wireless Institute, and with Robotics @ ND. We are actively recruiting motivated undergraduate, graduate, and postdoctoral researchers! The group's work spans:
